RAS是GTPase原癌基因家族成员，蕴含3个亲昵有关的RAS亚型，HRAS,KRAS and NRAS。

RAS is a family of GTPase proto-oncogenes, comprising three closely related RAS isoforms:HRAS,KRAS and NRAS.

在所有RAS亚型中，KRAS突变频率最高，KRAS突变常见于胰腺癌，肺癌和结直肠癌。

KRAS gene is a proto-oncogene that encodes a GTP/GDP-binding protein, that belongs to the GTPase RAS family.

KRAS基因是编码GTP/GDP结合蛋白的原癌基因，属于GTPase RAS家族。KRAS蛋白作为分子开关，在GDP结合的无活性状态和GTP结合的活性状态之间循环。KRAS蛋白别离通过与GTP和GDP结合，在无活性分子和活性大局之间转换。

The KRAS protein acts as molecular switches that cycle between a GDP-bound inactive state and a GTP-bound active state. KRAS protein switches between an inactive to an active form via binding to GTP and GDP respectively。
